Project Engineering Superintendent - Technical and Projects Division

Our Client is an International Drilling Contractor with a strong presence in the North Atlantic basin. They operate a fleet of 6 rigs with an additional 3 rigs being delivered in 2015. In order to support their operations in the UK they are looking to build a Technical & Projects Business unit which will bolster their Offshore internal competence in engineering and projects.

They have an immediate requirement for 2 experienced Project Engineering Superintendents to be part of the delivery team to oversee and manage engineering work scopes required for successful transition from build to operation of their new Cat D Rigs. These are currently being built in South Korea and will eventually go into operation on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

This is an important role & successful candidates will initially see vessels into operation and then provide follow up / through life support as part of engineering and project team within T&P Business Unit. The position reports to the Operations Preparation Project Manager

Job description

•Take responsibility for assigned projects.

•Produce Shipyard & Transit work lists and specifications

•Be part of Shipyard negotiation team

•Ensure completion of the Project on time and within budget.

•Ensure Project runs in accordance with Company Procedures and Policies

•Ensure Project’s Regulatory and Corporate compliance

•Ensure the smooth running and timely completion of all projects

•Ensure compliance with Company and regulatory Standards and Procedures

•Ensure an open flow of information

•Contribute to the development of the Technical & Projects Division

•Travel as required to project locations


•10 years' experience in a senior role within a technical, engineering or operations discipline in the oil & gas or similar industry

•Preferably a degree qualification in a relevant technical or engineering discipline

•Good understanding of all engineering disciplines and how they function with the oil and gas context

•Solid insight into challenges represented by various work scopes

•Good understanding of drilling business and events such as yard stays, rig conversions and general day-to-day rig operations
